I had enough trouble running games like Planetside 2 and BF3 back when I first got this notebook with the CPU throttling down to 0.8GHz and the audio crackling if I don't use CoolerBoost.

Without Coolerboost, fans max out at around 5000rpm and the CPU and GPU hit 88C under load; with coolerboost, the fans hit 7000rpm (or they did till MSI broke fan2 and got it running about 500-1000rpm slower than fan1) the CPU and GPU should drop down by about 20C to about 70C... At least they did for a month or two. Now with coolerboost we aren't looking at any temperature drop. A rock solid 88C.

Dust. It's gotta be dust! Well, I've checked. I've hit it with canned air and nothing. But even then... I doubt it is and ever was. My old laptop a hp pavilion g6-2210sa never had any issue with thermal throttling or dust. Even after 3 years. The only reason I upgrade was because the HDD died and I just felt like it was time to upgrade. While ordering this MSI notebook I also ordered a replacement SSD and felt I needed to clean the vents out of the old g6... but guess what? No dust. 3 fucking years of service and nothing for me to clean.

Now, this MSI notebook was trouble from the first unboxing. BSOD within the first day and WiFi connectivity issues which are caused by the Intel DB Wireless drivers. Quick fix right? Nope. MSI drivers don't fix it. Had to get drivers from Intel. Then we had games like BF3 crashing randomly. The cause? The audio software.

For the next couple of months it was a bit of a battle with various customer supports to try and figure out why all this crap was going on and why I was also getting things like diagonal screen tearing. After all this bitching... They have literally only fixed one thing; The audio software.... mostly.

Then all this crap. Contacted MSI support and was told that it is "Working as intended." bull fucking shit it is. After some more pressure and some more uninstalling and reinstalling of Windows and such they told me to send it in for servicing. Lets see if they try and get me to pay for this crap to be fixed.

tl;dr "Working as intended"
tl;dr2 Don't buy MSI
