Postdoc researchers Dr. Afshan Jamshaid and Dr. Asfaw Assegde are on a mission to change how we power our world: At the University of Stuttgart’s Institute for Photovoltaics , they are researching perovskite solar cells — a cutting-edge technology that is lightweight, efficient, and cost-effective, with the potential to integrate seamlessly into windows, rooftops, and everyday surfaces.
Both Afshan Jamshaid and Asfaw Assegde are experienced scientists who have worked across the globe — from Japan to Belgium. In our video interview, they share what motivated them to continue their academic career as postdocs in Germany, how it feels to live and work in Stuttgart, and their vision for the future of solar energy as well as their personal future.
