This week's Word of Thanks micro-giving campaign supports doctors clinics in schools in low-income areas of Adams County.
Kids First Health Care has been dealing with, as they say, one cut after another. Federal cuts to Medicaid are impacting the nonprofit's budget, but they're determined to keep caring for students in Adams County's school districts.
For decades, the nonprofit has proven that putting pediatricians' offices in schools means more families can access care without worry about transportation, taking off work or not being able to afford visits.
Kids First Health Care can talk all day about the studies showing school-based healthcare — like medical, dental and mental health — helps kids improve their behavior and grades, but studies don't pay for the care. We can help with that.
Since Kyle started Word of Thanks in 2020, this Next community has raised more than $19 million for nonprofits doing great work in our state. Like every week, we ask you to consider even a $5 donation – and Kyle will match the first 50 of those.
