- Vallejo Burnt Umber in recesses and shadows
- Abteilung Smoke Oil applied to deepest shadows, feathered with a Q-tip and a brush
- Thinned Flesh tearer's red basically all over on a thin filter
- Airbrush Clener reductive technique with an airbrush cleaning tool, scratching into the paint, and mottling with a brush
- Second pass of Flesh Tearer's red + localized one after adding the rune decals
- Final Satin varnish coat
