Lots of things in media get called “ripoffs”. This video explains what I view as “ripping off”, and what I think gets mislabeled as being a ripoff, such as throwback bands, bands that have a distinct influence from another artist, and artists that have been taken to court for allegedly plagiarizing someone. I also talk about sampling and parody, and how they differentiate from eachother as well as how they differentiate from ripping something off.

There’s also some subtle irony in the fact that I’ve been called a ripoff of both CoverKillerNation and Razorfist lol.
