The new center platform at Worcester Union Station is almost ready to be fully in operation. The fence that was up along one side of the platform is now gone. All ballasted rails are in place. Trains can now be accessed from both sides of the platform. The most recent MBTA website update of both sides of the platform being in use was the spring of 2025. This video was recorded on the first day of summer 2025. I've search the internet but haven't been able to find a date announcing the day both sides of the platform will be in use. The project completion should happen this year - the upper parking area still needs lots of attention, walkways between that lot and the station entrance needs to be completed. Removing all the leftovers of construction and completing the patio outside the station are still on the to-do list.
