This lamp is made entirely from hedge cuttings and resin. I collected a selection of branches and twigs, cut them into cross-sections, arranged them, and cast them in a deep black / pewter resin. The entire form was turned on the lathe, then coated in a final flood layer of resin before being sanded and polished to a high gloss.
The result is a sculptural lamp base with a natural, organic pattern created from the growth rings of the branches. Each circle tells the history of that hedge. No two are the same.
Mixture of Hawthorn, Blackthorn and English Ivy. Will be making the lamp shade to go with it sometime soon!
