Turned back in November, this is a simple and elegant candelabra base that was a commission for local jewellery company Hallmark Jewellers.
The brief was to turn a base as dark as possible (because ebony wasn't to be found anywhere at the 300x25mm required) so we opted for American Black Walnut.
Standing on it (for a TV show) was to be a sterling silver and 22ct candelabra and 6 christmas cracker filligrees completed with over 300 gem stones including 1ct diamonds and 190 rubies!
The piece was finished with Black water based dye from the Intrinsic Colour Collection, Hampshire Sheen Black Embellishing Wax and Hampshire Sheen High Gloss.
