Welcome to Episode #077. Tonight we are going to talk about favorites species of wood and projects outside of our skill level. We are joined tonight by our guest host Samantha Wooddell from Sam Ryan Designs.

Drew - Working on the wood insets for the desk and preparing plans for my next sled attachment
Jeremy - Finished the Southern Woodworkers sign and just got back from ATL Woodworking Show.
Sam - Currently I am working on a 2 farm table, credenza, and a couple floating shelves.

Adam: Drew so you don't feel picked on about making your workshop pretty and match. You’re branding. If you're making content for profit, then your shop better be instantly recognizable from the herd on YouTube or other Social Media. There are too many talented people out there that you can get quality content from, the trick is to be memorable so they can find you again.

Thanks for a great show.
Just finished listening to the 75th episode, and heard you guys discuss if the 5 cut method was applicable to a miter saw tune-up.
And YES it can be done without any math, and calculations.
BUT you will have to sneak up on the adjustment, just as you would on a TS sled back fence, if you did not use the formula.
On the miter saw you would have to adjust the pointer which shows the angle of cut, to zero it out.
Just keep your piece of wood on the left side of the blade, set the saw in a 0 degree position (90degrees to the fence), and make your 5 cuts and check the cutoff piece, holding it in the same direction as it was on the saw.
If the cut off piece is wider on the end that is towards you, your blade is too far to the left, and the pointer needs to be moved a little to the left. ( see attached image)
Then your indicator arrow will be on "0" with your blade further to the right
Repeat until indicator shows 0 and your cutoff piece is same width in both ends.
Did that make any sense?
