ON TODAY'S SHOW
Welcome to Episode #068. Tonight we are going to talk about working with different materials, corn hole, and risk taking. We are joined tonight by our guest host Pete from DIY Pete.
WHAT'S GOING ON IN OUR SHOP?
Drew - Getting ready for the new season, starting a new build with my little boomer, Hannah.
Jeremy - I am starting the organization process of hanging things up on the walls.
Pete - Right now I'm working on a collaboration project with a young veteran in Montana who has dealt with PTSD that reached out to me to let me know how projects have made an impact on helping get his mind clear and focused on other things. We are building a really neat entry table with a concrete top and with an area to store boots and shoes underneath. The base is being constructed out of 2x4's and so it is a simple and affordable project for anyone. Nick hasn't ever worked with concrete, so it's been a lot of fun getting to work together. Our goal is to show more folks how DIY projects can be a great hobby and how they can help so many folks struggling with PTSD and other situations.

Lemongrovecraftsman - I sent an email about the whole leaving your current job to pursue woodworking as a full time gig a few months ago and have to give props to Todd for keeping it real. I've been wondering about that myself, but those on YouTube who quit their full time job to woodworking don't really talk about their struggles and how their lives compared before and after the transition. Thanks Todd for shedding some light on this subject. I am sure there is more to the transition than we know.
Todd Clippinger - To Lemongrovecraftsman I don't think it is a popular subject, but I believe it is a necessary one. Thanks for your feedback, it is good to know that someone appreciated it. I thought Jeremy had some great information on laying out how to assess the risk. He covered that part much better than I would have. And Drew... what are you - 15 in that photo?
Paul Meyette - Interesting episode. I don't think my significant other quite understands why I do videos and "waste so much time" with the social media, etc. I am not chasing paper, I just want to leave something behind for my kids. Note to April; I am usually positive in my comments, but if you're gonna fight, I definitely gonna watch my step! Lol
