Until last year this area was seriously under threat of the bulldozer's but thanks to lots of hard work campaigning by the locals and the Woodhall faskin and Palacecraig conservation group they managed to block the planing permission for nearly 3,000 houses which would have destroyed this stunning area and would have limited the access to the space to people who owned a house in the development which was extremely unfair to the calderbank community who use it regularly not to mention the destruction it would have caused to the environment
