Tokyo-based woodblock printmaker Dave Bull presents a second recorded Twitch live stream showing the entire process of making a woodblock print, from bare wood right through to the completed print, in one uncut session. This time, he is joined by Taran Casey, a Welsh craftsman now living in Japan. The two of them shared the cutting work, and Dave then made a few proof copies of the finished print, a design by Ichijô Narumi (1877~1910).
It was recorded on December 7, 2023 in the Mokuhankan shop in Asakusa Tokyo.
Note: we kept a copy of the Twitch Chat during the stream, and you can 'follow along' if you wish (on desktop). It is 'hidden' in the English(Canada) subtitle file, and will appear alongside the video if you click the 'Show Transcript' button (below). (Thank you to Stuart for putting this together for us!)
