Wood Turning - Disaster Struck with a Spalted Silver Birch Exploding Bowl  @caitlanthecat

Well this bowl was 10 months in the making and it seems the piece of wood did not want to be a bowl.

I started turning it 9 months ago and found that there were areas of the wood that were quite spongey. I soaked it in 50/50 washing up liquid/water which I had been told might help harden the wood up.

I started turning the outside and all seemed to be going well. Then after narrowly averting one disaster a second was not far behind as you will see from the video.

I have manged to pick up the pieces (really) and put it back together.
