Rick Lazes' wood sculpture series, 'The World Is Bending,' is a splintering distortion of reality. Long, pointed pieces of cherry, walnut, maple, oak and poplar of wood are cut, steamed, bent and jointed together in a tangle that at first seems to defy the laws of physics. Lazes system is unique as well, because his wood-steaming process is patent pending.
