I hadn't time to properly work on it but I did promise i would show a better preview for it.
As you can see Wood Dragon treats any partner as an enemy if you don't have any eyes active.
There are conditions to keep riding and to ride on it.
While riding you manually chooses an attack made by it, new attacks are unlocked for riding mode but since I didn't have time only 1 attack was shown for riding mode, the wood pikes.
