I was aiming for a 32 drop 3, which means 32" long minus 3 and you get 29 and that is the weight. So 32" x 29 oz. However, with this hard maple I was not able to get it down to 29. It would have removed so much of the barrel diameter that the bat would not have looked right. I looked up on Google and it said that normally with hard woods like I used, a 31 oz was about as light as you could get for a 32" long bat. To get a drop 3 I would have to use a less dense wood.
I used waterslide decal paper for the logo. The paper is really cool. You print on it with an inkjet printer and then spray polyurethan over the print. When you soak it in water the glue softens and then you can slide the decal off the paper onto your item. I had the best luck spraying the bat with poly first then applying the decal and then spraying everything. The first try I put the decal right on the wood and it came out looking different then the sprayed surface. I had to sand it back off and start over with new coating and decals.
