We’re committed to improving gender equality in our workplace and we know we still have a long way to go.
Through the Women in Transport Strategy 2021-24, we are working to remove the barriers that have limited diverse gender representation in the sector through major initiatives such as:
Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships awarded to women to study in a transport-related field, since 2017
A mentoring program for women, since 2017, approximately 2,173 people from across the transport industry have participated in the mentoring program
An engineering Pathways Program for refugees and women asylum seekers
Funding for training and support and employment for women bus drivers
scholarships for women heavy vehicle mechanics.
By aiming for diversity and equal opportunities, we not only benefit lots of capable women but will ensure we have the knowledge, experience and insights to fill the skills gaps in this booming sector for many years to come.
