This nifty little song is perfect for Valentine's Day. It tells the story of a lonely country boy who wants to wed the daughter of mountain man Clifton Clowers. Interestingly, it's a real mountain in the state of Arkansas, USA, and Clifton Clowers was a real person. The song was originally written by his nephew Merle Kilgore and was adapted and released by Claude King in 1962. Comments welcome!
