In the Austerlitz valley, the morning fog wasn't just weather; it was a shroud of concealment woven by Napoleon’s elite French wizards, designed to conceal his army.

Napoleon, Emperor and Arch-mage, stood alone atop the Pratzen Heights holding a staff of blackened oak. As the Allied columns moved along the roads beneath him, he tapped the earth, sending a seismic pulse that caused thorns to emerge from the ground beneath the Russian boots, stalling their advance.

When the Allied lines finally advanced, they didn't just fire lead. Each volley of musketry was supported by fireballs cast by the the Tsar’s court sorcerers, arcing high over the lines. They burst in the midst of the allied lines with a fiery eruption. The French commanders countered by raising shields—shimmering walls of force that vibrated violently as they deflected the magical projectiles.
