Friday Night Funkin' (abbreviated as FNF) is a rhythm video game released on Newgrounds on November 1, 2020 developed by programmer ninjamuffin99, with soundtrack by Kawai Sprite and artwork by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r.
The main character, Boyfriend , wants to date Girlfriend , but her father, Daddy Dearest (who is a former rock star) doesn't want him to date her, so BF has to rap to prove himself worthy. The game features weeks, during which the player will face off against different characters.
The game is well known for being open source, meaning that anyone can mod the game, very easily as long as they have some art, animation, music, and coding experience. This has led to numerous quality mods of the original game appearing over the past few months, which are free to download and give us access to new hours of quality gameplay. Ninjamuffin has confirmed that the mods are canon.
