We got together with friends at Ernesto Gamez, Jr. Cascade Park here in Brownsville, Texas on Saturday, October 8, 2025. It's a very nice park and they are always making improvements to it. They have picnic tables with shelters. Each location has a barbecue grill. All the shelters have access to electricity. They have some spots by the parking area. If you're going with a lot of things and want to stay by the play area, I recommend you bring a folding wagon to transport your gear. There is a resaca that goes around the park and many people go fishing. I don't recommend eating the fish because the area use to be for agriculture use which means pesticides and fertilizer.
