Megan Black | Witchcraft Correspondences || Where do they come from? @RoundtheCauldron | Uploaded May 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Correspondences within witchcraft can be personal or common. Where do they come from? Who decides the correspondences for herbs, candles, and colors within witchcraft?
* Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magickal Herbs(+): amzn.to/3bPS39J
* Doctrine of Signatures by J.M.S. Pearce written for European Neurology: karger.com/Article/Abstract/131714
* Doctrine of Signatures Wikipedia Page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctrine_of_signatures
* Psychology Today - Color Psychology: psychologytoday.com/us/blog/habits-not-hacks/201408/color-psychology-how-colors-influence-the-mind
* Signatura rerum, or The Signature of All Things (Full Text): https://quod.lib.umich.edu/e/eebo/A28534.0001.001?view=toc
* Color Correspondences - Emotional or Traditional? roundthecauldron.com/color-correspondences-tradition-or-emotion
* How to Make a Poppet: youtu.be/0chHAGJyqsg
One thing I wrestled with at the beginning of my studies of witchcraft and magick was just who decided the correspondences? Who decided that clear quartz is a good crystal for just about everything? Who decided that lavender corresponds with calming? Today, I wanted to talk about witchcraft correspondences and where they come from. I discuss the animist perspective, the psychological perspective, and the medicinal perspective. This by no means is a comprehensive dive into correspondences, but I hope it gives you a chance to think about your own witchcraft correspondences and how you use them in your craft.
