I want to talk about some things I have been thinking about. Christianity and the Bible hold such a vice around the necks of so many people. It is there when someone wants to spiritually bypass the work involved in transcendence. I WANT TO KNOW WHY!

A LITTLE MORE OF MY THOUGHTS
Please know that I am not approaching this topic from real knowledge or intelligence. Like many other videos I put on the channel, it’s a way to put some thoughts about various topics out there.
The appropriation of Christianity and the Bible is widely known. I am not saying anything new here. The way I go through my thoughts about the appropriation is to organize my thoughts on these matters.
When speaking of the Bible, I want to stress that while I know that it is a compilation of appropriative texts, the stories that are present offer symbolism and a semblance of meaning. Even appropriative, the religions of the world that influenced the Bible offer a structure in which to follow for spiritual meaning.
What I call “filler” in relation to the stories that make up the Bible, I simply mean that there are many other stories (epics if you will) that can be followed to establish merit in spirituality.
Myths, such as that of Horus, Osiris, and Isis, aid in associating ourselves with their stories which in turn gives us a mappable way to live. We can use these instead, right?
Spiritual texts are allegory. The ones who are idealistic could probably interpret the symbolism into answers to humanity’s questions. Symbolism is important.
Along with my statement about why people convert, I want to stress that I, also, believe that Death plays a role. Death is the main mystery of life. People who cannot find meaning in existence that will become non-existence, look to religion for answers. Death is inevitable and only when we form a relationship with it can we transcend the terror. Religion provides a way to cope with Death in an aside way. Someone else tells them the meaning of Death and they take it at face value.
