Note-I just want to make sure people know this is for all the winter holidays, not just Christmas-I actually celebrate both Channukah and Christmas :)
This was so popular last year I had to bring it back :) I decided to start it earlier this year for a number of reasons-I'd already had people expressing interest in it, a lot of people are doing NaNoWriMo for all of November (myself included), and a lot of people are having hard weeks and feeling down (myself included), so I thought we could all use this right now.
I adapted this from the LJ meme
The Rules
Step One
#Make a video like this one. The video description should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love an icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
# Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in the video description so that the holiday joy will spread.
#Post your Wishlist Project video as a video response to this one so everyone can find the videos in one place.
Step Two
# Surf around Youtube to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. You don't need to claim that you're doing something for someone-if they get more than one of something they wanted, fantastic! Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My wishlist (a list of all my favorite fandoms, pairings, music, etc. can be found on my YT channel)
1. A multifandom video with my favorite fandoms
2. Fanfiction written for one of my AU vids
3. Anything about my OCs-fanfiction, videos, fanart, crossovers w/your OCs-all I ask is don't break up their relationships or kill them off
4. Mix CDs-these would have to be electronic, since I'm not comfortable giving out my address, so if you were able to do this, you could send me the songs in the order you picked, and maybe some cover art I could print out when I burned the CD. I'm always looking for new songs to listen to, and mix CDs are one of my favorite gifts.
5. Artwork in any forms
6. Some of my favorite vidders collabing on a vid of my favorites for me
7. Fanfiction written with my favorite pairings and tropes (tropes-hurt/comfort, domesticity, schmoop, reunions (including my favorite trope of all-each half of a pairing believing the other is dead, and then they are reunited and find out their love is alive); also fanfiction with my favorite friendships/families (same tropes)
8. My favorite TV shows put into trailers of my favorite movies (example: youtube.com/watch?v=pJvCa5Od4W0)
9. More userpics on Livejournal
10. Any of my favorites in fandom vidded to any of my favorite music
10.
