A trick to fish wires through holes in walls or through conduits. Put a vacuum cleaner to one side of the hole or conduit and insert a string on the other side, it will be sucked into it. Then use the string to pull the cable in. If this fails, you can suck a thin thread in, use it to pull a rope in, and then use the rope to pull in a cable. A thin thread is more likely to be sucked through a complex path. You might also lubricate the cable.
