Venturing into the backcountry on a snowshoeing hike. Making decisions and change of course as I go based on what I’m seeing. End goal is to end up somewhere high while knife testing and building a winter fire.

While not putting on my snowshoes to start, they come in handy on the way down off the ridge. Finding recent mule deer tracks and running into a young buck along the way. Finally reaching the ridge top and processing wood with the Silky Gomboy Saw and Esee PR4.
