Hi butterflies!!!
IT'S DONE!!! OMG I'M SO PROUD OF THIS^^ Lol I kept the animation fairly simple so I could finish in time to turn it in, but I was worrying a little bit I still wouldn't =o= So here is my finished title sequence for my VC class.
Also as promised here is the background on it. So as I said in the wip this is from the same story as Daughter of the King—from like 2 years ago, I think. I stopped working on that animatic because I realized I needed to write everything down, because at that point I kept it all in my head and was beginning to forget small details I liked, and I also needed to plan out the world better. My last VC assignment was worldbuilding and since I had a story still in need of a world I used TTOB. Which is one reason I started joining MAPs, the other I've always really wanted to XD
So changes from the story of DOTK are not too major. The biggest thing is instead of magical powers and being shapeshifters, the wolves now only have magical powers. That's also why I stopped listing shapeshifter on Butterfly's reference sheet, though she still technically can as a sona and she does turn into a cat XD It was easier to come up with dangerous situations and also not have an easy fix for everything this way. Oh and the big bads got a name change from the Horsemen to the Deathbringers, I did this to limit the mythological references and keep it to Norse—with the exception of the Phoenix flame. I'm keeping the Norse references minimal, with it mainly being in naming and a little of how the packs function.
In the title sequence we pick up essentially in the middle of DOTK after Arminius is dead. Once the deathbringers leave Butterfly runs to her father, but it is too late. We see the beginnings of Butterfly's powers awakening through the flash of her eye to her Phoenix form. The camera then pans through her eye and we see the start of a war. From there I'm leaving you all in the dark ;p The one hint is the Deathbringers are the 3 shadow wolves at the end.
Also a little on the assignment. We had to make a title sequence based on mythology, a book, or a song. My teacher said I could use my story since I use Norse influence in it, I just had to still relate it to a Norse myth. So the myth I chose is also the name of the song, Fimbulvetr. This is the great winter before Ragnarok when great wars are raged between man, so it's the prelude to Ragnarok. I relate this to my title sequence because we pick up at the prelude to the whole story and Butterfly's power essentially. There is also the great war between the packs shown. Lastly, the beginning of the story also takes place in winter^^
