The City of Austin’s Street and Bridge Operations team is gearing up for winter. Field crews conducted two days of special training to be better prepared for potential ice storms. The training included testing the equipment used to apply de-icing and anti-icing chemicals to treat roadways during an ice event. While the City of Austin continues to prepare for the winter season, Austinites can do their part to ensure everyone is safe by staying off the roads as much as possible during hazardous conditions.
