Does winter sowing work?
Winter sowing is a fairly new technique where you plant your veggie seeds in milk jugs or other similar plastic containers all taped up. You set them outside in the snow in the middle of January or February!
They hibernate all winter. They expand and contract with the changes in temperature and humidity. And then they germinate in the spring outside into gorgeous seedlings, ready to be planted in containers, raised beds or in the ground.
This stops you from having to grow seeds under a grow light indoors and have your house taking over by seedlings!
I had very successful seedling growth with this method.
In this video, I show you all the vegetable plants I grew out in the snow.
