Well... after starting a series of unfinished Outlander videos over the winter break and subsequently spiralling into a pit of despair and self-doubt, I was seriously beginning to question whether I am still capable of vidding Outlander. As of the end of season three, the show has undoubtedly shifted away from the generic conventions I became accustomed to in the first two seasons, and I began to doubt whether I could work with the new "feel" of the show. If you've seen any of my other Outlander vids, you may have gathered that I like to focus on the moral complexity of the darker and more sombre themes in the show, and many of these themes are no longer present in the same sense now that the Jacobite/Culloden/two husbands subplots have all been resolved. I read Voyager back in 2013 and had therefore been anticipating the shift in the tone, but I didn't anticipate how much it would affect my inspiration. Anyhow, it turns out that I was just being dramatic and was mistaken. So I hope you enjoy this. This song has been on my season three vid ideas playlist since day one.
