RuPaul's Drag Race has showcased drag queens for 16 seasons, with contestants competing for "America's Next Drag Superstar." The first five winners include Jinkx Monsoon, who won Season 5 and All Stars 2022, and has since starred on Broadway and appeared on TV. Sharon Needles, the 2012 winner, faced controversy and was reportedly banned from Drag Race spinoffs. Raja Gemini, Season 3 winner, returned to win All Stars 2022 and has worked on various projects. Tyra Sanchez, Season 2 winner, returned to drag in 2022 but was arrested in 2023 and claimed to be banned from spinoffs. BeBe Zahara Benet, the Season 1 winner, has continued her career, supported Hurricane Maria relief, and co-owns Lavish Labs.
