After replacing a leaky compressor and new dryer, I vacuumed down the AC system in my Winnebago Lesharo. There was no hurry so I let it sit with vacuum over the week and checked it to make sure there were no leaks. Being a conversion, it was recommended to use ester oil and not PAG.
It is really simple to do AC repair on a car and I recommend DIY if you can find the time.
