The 24th anniversary of Windows XP is in a few days, so I thought I'd share this with you all.
This is the original, unaltered stereo mix of the Windows XP Out of Box Experience music, presented in the highest quality possible.
- The name of this track is "Velkommen", and it was composed by the late Stan LePard.
- This original mix (which is what you'll be listening to in this video) was included on the Microsoft Internet Explorer Starter Kit 3.0 CD from 1996.
- A remixed version of this track was also used for Microsoft Encarta Virtual Globe 1998 Edition.
- The original mix made its way onto Windows XP in 2001, albeit mono and in a lower quality.
- For Windows XP, it's in a Windows Media Audio file called "title.wma", and you can find it by going to C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\images.
