If you have not heard by now, Microsoft has ended extended support for Windows 7 as of today, January 14, 2020.
What does this mean?
This means that Windows 7 is now considered to be abandonware. Microsoft will no longer provide free security updates for Windows 7 to keep your PC secure from exploits, and other types of malware. Other software companies will eventually do the same thing as well in a few years or so after Microsoft's extended support date, and end their support of releasing new versions of their software for Windows 7.
Microsoft strongly recommends that the consumer upgrades to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 to continue receiving security updates.
For users who are using either Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Enterprise on Volume License Keys can choose to continue receiving Windows 7 updates, but at a yearly adding cost set by Microsoft though until 2023.
