Is saving lots of $$$ on an expansion battery worth the risk? I'm putting my viral EcoFlow DIY battery hack to the ultimate safety test using a thermal camera.
In my last video, I showed you how to double your EcoFlow power station's capacity for a fraction of the price using cheap 48V LiFePO4 batteries. The response was huge, but so were the questions: "Will the wires melt?" "Does it get too hot?" "How does the EcoFlow handle the charging and discharging?"
I read all your comments, so today we are doing a deep dive follow-up. I'm breaking out the thermal imaging camera to scan the DIY wiring harness under heavy load to see if this "cheap hack" is actually dangerous. Plus, I explain exactly how the external battery interacts with the main unit during charging and discharging cycles so you know exactly what to expect.
