A wildfire that began Saturday, August 22, has burned more than 10,500 acres northwest of Reno, Nevada, forcing evacuations and road closures.

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency in Washoe County. Authorities have urged residents to monitor evacuation maps in the region.
