I, a *very* humble video producer, try to get some ancient tapes captured and archived using crap I find on EBay. This is my tale.
I compare A Philips 878 card, The Dazzle 101 and a plucky Hauppauge USB thingy that dates back to the dawn of time. Lined up against my rag-tag gang of tape-slingers is a Super VHS behemoth and lots of professional, expensive technology fielded by people who actually know what they are doing.
Who will win?

NOTE: I have Panasonic, not Philips VHS player and DVD recorder. I had Philips on the brain from trying to sort out the sound on that card! Apologies!

The clips are presented interlaced and in full frame.
The professional clips were captured using a Canopus -ADVC 55 with some form of professional time base corrector recording from a super VHS deck.
