This video was recorded by Stanley Stanis Kaka in Zambia. Chisoli, often referred to as Soli, is a language spoken by about 34,100 people in Zambia, as well as in the South-Eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is a Bantu language within the Lenje-Tonga language group and is closely related to the Tonga language (Zambezi). Notably, Soli contains several loanwords from the related Sabi language group.
Soli has some forms of literary standardizations, but these are not yet widespread. It is recognized as an indigenous language of Zambia, and is among the many Bantu languages that function as a lingua franca in Zambia.
