Here's another self cover of this song. This time I designed an actual bit of artwork to go with it (MSX limitations).
Partly inspired to see what I could achieve with *patch-swapping techniques* (and it turns out it's _extremely flexible_ when you use the custom patch as an initial point, many of the lead instrument patch swap from pure noise that's used for the drums into the preset patches), partly to try and one-up the YM2151 version with a less capable sound chip.
*Fun fact:* With the YM2413, if you supply a very low clock rate to it, like 800 kHz instead of the more typical 3.5 MHz, the built in multiplexer distorts like crazy. It'll sound _worse_ than the N163 with 8 channels. It also means that everything else aside from the high pitch whine will sound very different, much more ghostly in my opinion.
The artwork itself I designed with Aseprite, I wanted to reflect what I had in my mind as a place where this could play - a ginormous shuttle, carrying several carriages like a space train, carrying all sorts of explosives towards... somewhere, with the intent of detonating them as soon as this destination is reached. You have to avoid hitting explosives outside the vehicles, though. I was going to go either with Master System limits or MSX limits - I went with the latter as I wasn't keen on looking up whatever the Master System does for its graphics.
Originally composed by me (and covered by me as well)
