In this video, I explain exactly why scalping your Bermuda grass in the middle of summer is actually a great practice. When Bermuda grass gets too thick and overgrown, the lower stalks are shaded out and turn brown. If you've let your grass grow a little too long, a standard mow is going to reveal all those ugly brown stems.
The fix? We take it down low and completely restart the lawn. A summer scalp removes the overgrown, leggy growth and allows the grass to push fresh, green blades from the base.
