Just like humans and all animals, Kittens are born with an underdeveloped immune system which then matures by breastfeeding. This makes newborn kittens vulnerable to infections.
Thankfully, mom's saliva contains components that can fight off infections until the kittens develop their immune system. But despite that, bacteria and fungi may sometimes find a way to infect these tiny babies, more commonly in the eye.
That's why it's important for anyone taking care of newborn kittens to double-check their eyes every once in a while. And if an infection is found on a kitten, going to the vet may save its life.

We are cat lovers! and our channel is all about cats! Specifically, those with no family to love them: stray cats.
Unfortunately, our local environment is hostile to stray cats; they hardly trust humans, and they barely feed them. ( Some humans actually do harm them)
