How do you make your Canon DSLR film at 60fps? All the gear I use in this vid is below & at kit.co/rayortega
Depending on which country you are in, your Canon DSLR (60D, 70D, 80D, T6i, etc.) will be set to "video system" PAL or NTSC. Often times people ask me why they don't see an option for using 60 frames per second on their Canon DSLR and it's because your camera is set to PAL.
Go into your menu and in the sections represented by a yellow wrench icon, you'll find a setting for "video system." If yours is set to PAL then it's likely you live in a country where the frequency of the electricity is at 50Hz.
To prevent a mismatch of frequency in the lighting, PAL uses 50 frames per second. If you're in North America, the frequency is 60Hz and your camera will be set to NTSC by default.
When you switch your camera's video system to NTSC, you'll find that you now get the option to use 60fps instead of 50fps. As well, you will get an option to use 30fps in place of 25fps.
If you are using the correct video system for your country, so that the frame rate matches the frequency of the electricity, but your video still has flickering lights, you can also adjust your shutter speed to try and fix this. See my video on how to do that: youtube.com/watch?v=rjHft9lYYc4
