Ah, unrequited love. 11 is so far in love with Amy I don't think he actually understands it. Amy still doesn't even know what she wants, even though she married Rory.
My Theory is that The Doctor is trying to replace Rose with Amy, they are similar. Bossy, headstrong, sweet, caring, dependent, etc.
And for Rachel's sake, let's hope Jack comes back in Series 6.
