I share my audio cassette and portable player collection, which includes albums from my youth as well as newer releases and even some rare advance release albums!
Collecting cassettes is like adopting tiny plastic time machines that only speak in hiss and warble—each one a lovable, rewindable relic of an era when music came with liner notes you could squint at in the dark. There’s a masochistic joy in fast-forwarding too far, then rewinding just a bit, then too much, then giving up entirely and listening to the whole album like the ancients intended. Every cassette you find in a thrift store feels like discovering buried treasure, if the treasure chest also came with Metallica and some mysterious smudges that smell faintly like 1987. It's impractical, charming, and proudly defies modern convenience—just like your uncle's mullet.
