Peridot repeatedly stated the Cluster was in the Earth's core and at the center of the planet. In actuality, the Cluster was embedded in the mantle, only about 1/10 of the way to the center of the Earth. Why was Peridot so adamant about building a drill to specifications that could withstand conditions at the planet's center when that wasn't even the actual location? I provide a fairly simple theory to explain what otherwise might appear like a continuity error.
