I take a look at the National Park City campaign and why and how Chattanooga, Tennessee was chosen as the first one in the U.S. The foundation is not part of the US National Park Service, but is an international organization dedicated to improving urban-nature balance and making cities greener and more livable. Chattanooga has a large number of parks and greenspace in the heart of the city as well as just outside of it, and that plays an important role in the National Park City campaign.
