Two Deltona candidates whom the city clerk’s office said were not qualified will remain on the ballot, and votes for them will be counted unless a legal challenge is filed, according to the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections. The candidates include Deltona Vice Mayor Maritza Avila-Vazquez, who is running for mayor, and Stephen Colwell Jr., a current Deltona commissioner running for reelection.
