I personally found the new Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo incredibly tiring for my eyes, so I used a waveform analysis to find out why. In this video, I break down my technical analysis of the game's low contrast, foggy graphics, and washed-out blacks that cluster between 10% and 30% brightness. While this cinematic blue and green color grading is clearly an intentional design choice to make combat effects pop, it made exploration feel way too flat and muddy for my personal experience.
UPDATE: Played in HDR on both PC and PS5, a big difference.. this is how I wanted the game to look. Of course final game might differ and some areas might look different, at least when it comes to the demo, and maybe the final game, playing it in HDR for me is the way to go (usually I don't care that much).
Disclaimer: This analysis and personal review are based entirely on the pre-release demo and do not necessarily represent the final version of the game.
