Target is quietly shrinking its video game sections across stores in 2026 — and it’s not just random inventory decisions.
Physical game sales have crashed to roughly 17% of total software revenue, down from nearly 80% a decade ago. Retailers like Target are responding the only way businesses do when margins get tight. What used to be full game aisles are becoming smaller footprints or spinner racks in a lot of locations.
