Making huge progress forward with the deck build. How to Build Composite Deck Stairs. Building a Composite Deck Part 2. Joist, Blocking and Stairs! In this second part of the composite deck build video we are really starting to see things take shape as we add the joist, properly hanger them and level them out to make sure our Armadillo Composite decking does not have any wavy areas. We also add a bunch of blocking so we can add a beautiful accent color picture framing all the way around the deck. Then we go into great detail to cut our own stringers and build the front steps with 12" centers so we can have proper composite porch stairs. We then add our first bits of composite decking on the stairs mitering the Armadillo Campfire decking so we don't see any rough edges!
